Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the conference will be hosted by the Moroccan Center for Civic Education in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Training, and Scientific Research, and the Regional Council of Marrakech-Safi Region. This will be the first time the conference is being held in Africa. The time is right for such an encounter because it occurs at a juncture when Africa and other developing nations seek genuine collaboration to achieve sustainable quality school improvement for all.

Participants from about 80 countries will get together for the first time in Africa and the Arab region to share experience and exchange knowledge and best practices on quality education and school improvement. Under the theme: “Education, Youth Empowerment, and Sustainable Development: Collaboration between the Global North and South to Improve Education Quality”, policy makers, researchers, civil society leaders and practitioners will meet to develop shared priorities for collaboration between the global North and South that is focused on improving education quality for all.

The conference will be hosted in Ryad Mogador Palace Hotel and Palais De Congres, located in the heart of Marrakech. The venue is 10 minutes from the airport, the famous Jamaa El Fna Square and other attractions. Please make sure you plan a few days before or after the conference as there is no better place for an intellectual retreat that doubles as a dream vacation than Marrakech.

We look forward to meeting you all at ICSEI 2020 in Marrakech.
